Refreshing Winds

Here is a video report from the February 2011 CMU conference:

Refreshing Winds Conference at Canadian Mennonite University

CMU Student found Refreshing Winds very cool

  1. Shall we let God speak to this? I’ll quote just one passage, Psalm 1. Compare/contrast, this to McLaren’s stages.

The Lord states it here in 3 stages, and then states the outcome:

1)Blessed [is] the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly,

2)nor standeth in the way of sinners,

3)nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. (You did notice the progression from walk, stand, then sit, with the ungodly, then sinners, and finally the scornful.)

But his delight [is] in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

“The ungodly [are] not so: but [are] like the chaff which the wind driveth away.” Ironic that the conference calls itself a ‘wind.’ (Every wind of doctrine?)
Note that the writer’s favorite part “was about us as Christians being open to other faiths.”

That is precisely why in these last days people like myself and the individual running this site, and the people commenting here, cry out to our families and faith community to beware the wolves in our midst, wolves who have come to devour and destroy.

One does wonder why. Why do Mennonites insist on using the name, when they in no way resemble or hold to what Menno Simon taught.
Why do people insist on dragging into their churches, garbage they can gorge on in the church down the street?
But then, WHY do people call themselves Christians who hate Jews so that when Jews hear “Christian” all they can see in their minds eye is those who devastated them?
Why? Because it is the way of the deceiver. That is Satan’s modus operandi.

One day, having moved from a small Mennonite town highschool to a city one, I heard my favorite English lit teacher trash creation. When he was done, a grade 12 student next to me said, ‘well, one thing is sure. The stuff in Sunday school about Adam and Eve is a myth.’
That teacher, and CMU, and anyone that dare mislead poor young folk, will have much to answer for one day. Just so we get it, I’ll post all three references. It will help us to commit it to memory so we do not likewise offend:

Mat 18:6 But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and [that] he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

Mark 9:42 And whosoever shall offend one of [these] little ones that believe in me, it is better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he were cast into the sea.

Luke 17:2 It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

    • Amen.

My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment. James 3:1
