San Antonio 2011 is the National Youth Conference of the Mennonite Brethren Churches. Their website (www.sanantonio2011.org) says:
About
History of the Mennonite Brethren National Youth Conference
Youth of the United States Mennonite Brethren (USMB) Conference began meeting together in the 1970s. Every four years they would gather together from all over the nation to listen to challenging speakers, worship and enjoy activities. These youth conferences have been the largest gatherings of MBs in North America!

What a sad trend to see that one of the largest gatherings of MB’s in North America considers Shane Claiborne and his mystic social gospel a good choice for teaching their youth.
Parents, get educated and teach your kids, before Shane does.

Hi,
I am a youth minister who has been teaching youth for almost 30 years.
I have read a couple of Shane’s books, and have had the pleasure of hearing him speak at a national conference.
While I can understand your concerns (but do not agree)…you remind me of why young people continue to struggle with the church. I don’t know much about the Mennonite Brethren but I am interested in finding out more. They must me more open minded than you.
Clairborne has a heart for the poor and continues to challenge the church to rise up and defend them as we should.
I am always sorry when I see attacks from the church on individuals who have such a clear understanding of what Jesus has called us to do.
